if we ever have to say good-bye, this song is for you...
my favorite song by makaha sons of ni'ihau
"Don't be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again after moments or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends." ~Richard Bach

spf 15: kapoho, hawaii
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It's always our self we find in the sea.
.. (e.e. Cummings)
My soul is full of longing for the secrets of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me... (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
Every time we walk along a beach some ancient urge disturbs us so that we find ourselves shedding shoes and garments or scavenging among seaweed and whitened timbers like the homesick refugees of a long war.
.. (Loren Eiseley)
The greatest smiles will collect the greatest friends, and the happiness you share will surely return to you. ..(Unknown)
there are so many magical spots on the big island, and i am eager to discover them all.
kapoho is definitely a unique place on eastern tip of the island. they say it has the purest air in the world. what was once a small olden-day village overcome by lava has been replaced with a quiet community of vacation rental homes. this is where we stayed to celebrate the birthday of our dear friend wendy. we were welcomed with delicious sunshine and breathtaking views of the cool ocean clashing with spring-fed ponds warmed by the hot earth beneath. the homely cottage we stayed at was a wonderful place to celebrate wendy's yakudoshi. nothing like a weekend filled with music, sea life, alcohol, laughter, grindz, and a few hours of work in between with amazing friends.
